Following a longtime career that took him from Southern Company to the Pentagon, Eric Sawyer has now joined the firm as our first director of data analytics.
With more than two decades of experience in data management and GIS technologies, Eric brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. He holds degrees in geography and biology from Samford University and is driven by visualizing data to support decision-making.
“I really have a passion for the work that I do,” said Eric, who joined the Nashville environmental team in early July. “I’m happy to fill a role that TTL was looking for.”
Prior to joining TTL, Eric worked for ALEX – Alternative Experts, LLC – where he served as program manager for more than eight years, leading teams to deliver exceptional computer aided facility management technology support services for the Department of Defense.
“Eric is going to be instrumental in modernizing how we interact with the data that we collect, interpret, and present to clients across the entire company,” said David Carden, PG, who hired Eric to the team.
His prior roles include operations manager at iMMAP, where he managed international information management services, and director of information management and technology services at MACFADDEN, where he provided professional GIS services to U.S. government agencies.
Eric's extensive background also includes roles at Tulane University as an adjunct instructor, the University of Georgia as a program coordinator, and Southern Company, where he launched his career, as a project manager.
“The world is always evolving and creating news ways to capture and present engineering and scientific data,” David said. “That’s why I believe it’s important to our competitive edge that we keep up with the state of the art in how we do our work.”
Eric's leadership and innovative approach will significantly enhance our data analytics capabilities and drive our mission forward. Please join us in welcoming Eric to the TTL family!
