After a year of growth and accomplishments, TTL has moved up more than 30 spots on an annual ranking of engineering design firms.
TTL is now at No. 262 on the prestigious Engineering News-Record (ENR)’s Top 500 Design Firms for 2024.
Last year, after almost 60 years of service, TTL entered the Top 500 rankings for the first time at No. 296.
“I couldn’t be more proud of every one of our team members,” said TTL CEO Dean McClure. “This climb up the Top 500 list is the result of their commitment to our clients and all the communities we serve. We’ve been doing this long enough to understand their unique challenges and help them find better solutions, and we are so thankful for ENR’s recognition.”
Considered one of the top publications in the engineering and construction industry, ENR performs annual surveys ranking U.S.-based firms in regional and national categories. The Top 500 list is based on revenue for design services performed in 2023, and the publicly and privately held companies and subsidiaries named to it are regarded as the best in the business.
According to ENR, revenue gains for this year’s Top 500 firms were evenly distributed among those on this year’s list and, of the 479 firms listed in both 2023 and 2024, 84.6% increased their revenue by a median rate of 11.3%.
TTL’s annual revenue growth has been on a steady climb for years and, with 2023 net revenue growth of 16.6%, TTL outpaced the Top 500’s median growth rate by more than 5%.
This was driven by TTL's continued diversification of services and regional growth during a year of expansion and achievement. It began with the January 2023 announcement of a new Atlanta office to enhance our transportation, design, engineering, and consulting efforts in Georgia and ended with strategic moves in December to expand our civil design services in Birmingham.
Also driving this growth was the addition of new clients and bigger projects across our entire 14-office footprint in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas.
Founded in 1964, TTL is an engineering design firm focused on delivering integrated infrastructure solutions for public and private clients. With more than 450 team members across the Southern U.S., TTL provides a wide range of services, including civil, transportation, and geotechnical engineering; environmental consulting and remediation; testing, inspection, and observation of construction materials; and surveying.
